San Sebastian, Spain

We arrived at 4:30pm and we immediately found ourselves a cafe where we had a beer in the sun. The weather was much better than we anticipated as San Sebastian is quite north. The sun was shining and it was a lovely temperature for lugging our backpacks around looking for a hostel for the night. We went to many hostels and pensions but the prices were VERY high. While looking we stopped at a burger joint for lunch where we ordered a burger, which was very good but had a fried egg on it. Very strange but pretty damn yummy I have to admit. We had ordered the burger not knowing what some of the ingredients were.... We had quite the laugh when our plates arrived, that's for sure. After lunch/dinner we continued our search for inexpensive accommodation and ended up taking a double with an ensuite bathroom for €55/night which is totally outrageous but we didn't have much choice. We threw down our bags and headed out to have a further, non-lugging the backpacks around, look. We found the beach quickly and walked along, my feet in the water. From there we walked to the marina where we watched some old men fishing and then we wandered into the old section of town. There were tons of great little shops and bars and Tapas joints. We ended up having a beer and a chat and then we were back out wandering. Not much to report from here really... checked our email, etc.... though we did get a little tipsy by the end of the night and I felt pretty rubbishy in the morning.
San Sebastian is lovely though we were expecting a much smaller city. Originally we thought we'd stay for about a week but once we really wandered around we discovered that it was quite full of tourists and very busy so we decided to enjoy one night and the following morning.
(That Fucking Freezing T-shirt was on display in a window here-Luke noticed it. Pretty funny with the maple leaf and everything. They have NO IDEA!
