Apr 7th - Apr 10th Cork/Blarney/Cliffs of Moher

WOW! That's alot of pictures...well it was a BIG and LONG weekend. So here we go...

Luke and I took the Friday and Monday off so that we could take a long weekend away. We hopped on the bus to Cork on Friday morning and arrived there at about 12:30pm. We walked up to our hostel (Yes, hoStel) and dropped our bag. Ty was a little unprepared for life at a hostel but he survived! The room had 3 beds, 2 of which were in the form of a bunk bed. Luke and I shared the bunk and Ty had the regular bed to himself. Once we dropped our stuff off we headed to town to check it out. We were about a 5 minute walk from the city centre. We poked around, went for a pint, grabbed a bite to eat and then grabbed more pints and attempted to have a 'big' night out but everywhere in Cork either plays crap music, closes early or charges €12 per person to get in.

Saturday we went out to Blarney and kissed the Blarney stone. Great fun. The weather was fantastic. Sunny and bright as you'll see from the photos. From there we went to Kinsale and a few other places. See photos. That night, back in Cork, Ty took us all out for a lovely Italian dinner with some good wine and then we all went back to the hostel, kind of giddy from the wine, where we stayed up chatting and relaxing as we had to get up early to get the bus to Cliffs of Moher.

Cliffs of Moher! We hopped on the bus at about 8:00am. The ride was 2 hours to Limerick where we got off the bus to make a switch but then ended up getting right back on (Don't ask - there was only one person at the station as it was Sunday and no one wanted to tell us the direct way to get there for some reason. They had us hopping off and on and off and on...) to Ennis. Ennis..... was..... interesting. The middle of NOWHERE. The bus station had one little room in it with a machine with 3 chocolate bars and there was no one working at the ticket counter and no schedule to let us know what time our bus was coming at. We wandered from the station as we finally found out the bus time from the guy cleaning the buses. We grabbed a sandwich (Ty ended up with a potato and breaded chicken sandwich... hilarous... as the woman making the sandwiches didn't really speak english. Apparently 'salad' means mashed potato!). After the sandwiches we sat around waiting and then finally hopped on the bus for the last leg of the journey to Moher. We got off the bus there and it was raining... boo. On our way up the hill to the cliffs things started to clear up and next thing we knew it was sunny, warm and BEAUTIFUL. The cliffs were amazing (See photos)! From there we took the bus back to Dublin, had dinner and took it easy as we were POOPED from the crazy amounts of travelling we had done over the previous 3 days.

Monday we went to Dublin city centre to do some shopping. Picked up groceries, wandered around a bit, etc.

Tuesday Luke and I were back at work so Ty entertained himself by shopping and hanging about. We had a nice dinner and went for the last pints of Guinness at Pearse.

Wednesday Ty left :(

Who's visiting next???!!! :)
